ANGER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM  

 
 
 WHAT IS THE ANGER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM?
 
This is a ten week program to help people identify their feelings and learn constructive ways to express their anger and underlying feelings.
 
Both individual and group therapy will be offered.
 
 
 WHO COULD BENEFIT FROM THE PROGRAM?
 
Everyone experiences feelings of anger at one time or another.  But some of us have learned to express our anger in inappropriate ways, such as yelling, verbal attacks or threats.
 
This might be because of what we witnessed as children -- parents yelling alot, hitting, putting each other down or not listening to our feelings.  Sometimes our current emotional issues -- depression, anxiety or too much stress -- results in anger that feels hard to control.
 
Others of us hold our anger deeply inside and never really express what we feel or think.
 
Either way, anger expressed too powerfully or not at all can hurt us or those around us and lead to destructive cycles in our relationships and our emotional health.  Learning new ways to experience and express our anger can enhance our lives and the lives of people we love and spend time with every day.
 
 
 WHAT YOU WILL LEARN  
 
At the end of ten weeks, the Anger Management Program will teach you the following: 
  1. How to identify your feelings
  2. What your anger triggers are
  3. How to assertively express anger and other underlying feelings
  4. How to calm your thoughts and emotions and to cope better
  5. How to deal with work related stress and problems
